Port Sirrus

Port Sirrus started off as a town that embraced piracy to boost the local economy and lower unemployment. Eventually Port Sirrus grew to be the pirate cove for the largest band of pirates on the Dauntless Sea. As the Nerath Empire gained a greater hold over the north, piracy was seen as a serious problem to the merchants of the realm. A group of adventuring mercenaries was hired to take control of the city and end the pirates. They succeeded and the remain three members of the party chose to stay a band and rule together. Thus the Triumverat of Port Sirrus was formed, each member a Count in the eyes of the Empire.

As good friends, the children of the counts were brought up together and the three houses have remained close for 400 years. The early counts laid down many ground rules to control and limit the individual powers of counts to prevent future counts from usurping power. The Merchants guild and Temple of Bane were created/brought in to help guide and control growth of the city. Early counts did a good job, with the watchful help of the Nerath government, to create systems that keep them in check. Through the wisdom and traditions of the early rulers and the friendship of the ruling houses Port Sirrus has prospered and remained stable, even a hundred years after the fall of the empire that spawned it.
